Our secure back garden not only provides a place to play with soil, sand, water, stones and wood, it is also a kitchen garden from which the children can watch fruit and vegetables grow and then help harvest them before preparing, cooking and eating them. We compost our green waste and use it for growing the vegetables. We collect rain water to use on the garden during the warmer months.

We have lots of outdoor play equipment. There is a play house, see saw and trampette. We have push along and ride on toys for younger children. Whenever possible we have free access to the garden to ensure the children have the freedom of choosing their own environments.

I take sun protection very seriously, therefore a gazebo is erected on the patio during the summer so that meals can be taken outside in the fresh air whenever possible, and so that activities such as painting, gluing and sticking and drawing can also be done outside in the shade.
